CAMP DESCRIPTION

The Spanish Trail Playhouse Summer Theatre Camp is a 1 week camp that meets Monday-Friday during the 3rd week of June 2021. Throughout the week, campers will participate in activities focused on acting, pantomime, improvisation, musical theatre dance, musical theatre singing, and numerous other elements of performance.

Through the daily activities, campers will be learning and rehearsing a 1-hour musical, Seussical Jr., which will be performed twice on June 19th at 2pm & 4:30pm for their friends, family, and community. Campers will be expected to memorize lines and songs, participate in movement exercises, and learn choreography.

Campers will be assigned their roles in the performance on Monday afternoon of camp week. In addition, they will receive vocal coaching and be expected to sing in the Saturday production either in solo or group performance. This camp will have a moderate degree of physical activity and campers should expect to get a bit of a work-out. Most importantly, they need to be prepared to have a GREAT DEAL of FUN!

CAMP PERFORMANCE: Saturday, June 19, 2021

Throughout the week, campers will be working toward bringing a fully produced (staged, choreographed, costumed, scenically designed) musical to realization on the stage. In order to prepare for the show, campers will report for rehearsal at 9:00am on Saturday, June 19 and will remain at the theatre until the final performance concludes.

Each Camper will be given 2 complimentary tickets for family/friends/community to one of the 2 scheduled performances. All other tickets are $5.00 per attendee and can be purchased throughout the week of camp from 8am-12pm each day.

TUITION INCLUDES:

Production Costume(s) • Acting/Musical Theatre Training • 2 Complimentary Performance Tickets to 1 of 2 Camp Performances • Script/Vocal Book • 1 Lunch (Performance Day) • Camp T-Shirt

LUNCH/SNACK

Campers are expected to bring their own “brown bag” lunch/snack each day. There will not be refrigeration or microwaving available for lunch. Lunch boxes/bags must include the camper's name.

Bottled water is suggested for campers during the camp experience.

Campers will be provided a sliced pizza, chips, and a drink at no additional charge on Saturday, June 19th, prior to the first performance. A lunch will not be needed on that date.

DAILY ATTENDANCE

We understand that circumstances arise which sometimes prevents a camper from attending camp; however, when attendance begins to affect a camper’s ability to maintain his or her role, parts will be reassigned. Campers who miss choreography or staging will be excluded from that particular number or scene during the end of camp production.

EXTENDED CARE

Parents/Guardians that deliver their camper prior to 8:15am or retrieve their camper after 4:30pm will be charged for Early Care/After Care at $25.00/hour or any part thereof. Payment will be due in cash BEFORE the camper will be allowed to return to camp.
